A bunch of goonies, a crowd of geeks and a skeleton knight.
To mark the start of The Write-Up, we are introducing a new weekly post – Cam’s Picks of the Week. Each week, we will suggest a film, tv show and game, selected by Cam (hello there). We hope you take our suggestions and give them a go, so check back here every Monday and we’ll have more interesting, wacky, terrific content suitable for an endless stream of adjectives.
The Film Pick: The Goonies

Admittedly, this is a personal favourite. Any bias aside, it’s undoubtedly a seminal classic, capturing the hearts of the world and imaginations of children looking for a little adventure in the troubles of everyday life. Delightfully nasty villains and a quirky gang of pals, it earns a place on anyone’s top tens.
The TV Pick: The IT Crowd

One of the most underrated sitcoms of the 21st century, Channel 4’s piece de resistance of oddball comedy invokes the heartiest of laughs. Championed by its leads, Chris O’Dowd, Richard Ayoade and Katherine Parkinson, The IT Crowd is a sharply written and expertly performed slice of genius. “The Work Outing” remains eternally quotable.
The Game Pick: MediEvil (PS1)

The graphics don’t hold up terribly well, but the gameplay is sneakily difficult, giving a false sense of security in the opening levels. Despite this, it’s never unfair – in a similar sense to Dark Souls, every hit and death is YOUR fault. Throw in a Tim Burton dreamscape and a skeleton that can use its own arm as a weapon, you’ll lose hours across this old-school adventure.
